Electricians
HOURS REQUIRED: 10
CODE-RELATED: 5
RENEWAL CYCLE: Biennial
RENEWAL DATE: Licensure date

Units of time — Contact Hours. Of the 10 hours, they can be based on any article or update to the National Electrical Code or on any code or standard of NFPA that relates to the provision of electrical services. At least 5 of the 10 hours must be taken in a classroom setting.

Reciprocates — The Board issues licenses through reciprocity to individuals holding a current master electrician’s license in the states of either Delaware or Virginia. Currently there is not reciprocity with licensees from other states. The Board issues licenses, through reciprocity to individuals, who hold a current master electrician’s license in one of the Maryland counties or Baltimore City.
